HELPING LOCAL BUSINESS TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS Posted 3 Mar 2010
Within the last few years climate change has become an increasingly prevalent issue with Industry and Commerce being responsible for making up 44% of the carbon emissions in the Borough of Watford. Watford as a borough has set a reduction target to cut its carbon emissions by 10% by the end of 2010 and by achieving this goal will demonstrate that we are committed to creating a sustainable environment for future generations to live in.

It is the aim of the Watford Chamber of Commerce through the Watford Business Network Travel Plan to enhance sustainability with regard to transport choice and to reduce the level of traffic in the town. The WBNTP commits to reducing single occupancy car travel through education, encouragement and by improving conditions and choice for cyclists, pedestrians and those using public transport
